Following the Government's proposals for a "Plastic Tax", there has been a huge response from major UK business and high profile supermarkets, pledging to reduce their use of plastics in the foreseeable future.
We expect this to show a continued increase in the use of recyclable materials, particularly in packaging, and therefore a corresponding increase in the demand for cards and papers produced from sustainable sources.
Meanwhile, a global shortage of paper, together with the demand for increased production, higher raw material and logistics costs and currency pressures, pushed up paper prices considerably during 2018 and the trend is likely to continue in 2019.
